As I'm sure you have all gathered, I'm quitting WoW. I've handed the guild lead to Ferocis and as of 11 April, Eschauta will no longer be an active character. You're not as doomed as you might think. Fero's a good guy, and an excellent player... once you get past his insufferable snarkiness. I wish him all the best, but give him hell anyway, and remember to tell him what a bad shaman he is. He likes it.

Are YOU gonna take that from Magmaw? Otus won't, and he's going to bring nine others with him to show that worm what's what. I've been reading up on the fight and it seems pretty straightforward, so should be fun.
The raid is for tonight and we're going to be learning, as it's our first time in, so hopefully everyone going in will be expecting repair bills and will be fully stocked on reagents and so on. Hell, bring your teddy bear if it helps, but don't let an attitude drag anyone else down.
In the past I've posted about what you should/shouldn't be doing in regards to raids. I'm not doing that anymore. I'm playing this game to have fun, and that wasn't. So from now on, people will already be prepared, or we're not bringing you.
Anyway, I'm thinking of posting some helpful advice in the forums I've seen different strats, the responsibilities of melee, ranged, tank, heals. Let us know in the forums what you need, or there's this handy comment thing here yanno O.o

So, a week later, welcome to Cataclysm folks! It's good to see so many people popping out of the woodwork after the pre-Cata lull we had. Granted, my joy will not be complete (although almost is, since we have Mimi and Snoozy back!! <3) until Jeff shows up to remind us that no matter who you are, you can not possibly be as good as he is. And congratulations to Neven and Aestuo, Realm Firsts for Jewelcrafting and Alchemy, respectively. And thanks to Niraya, we got a Guild Achievement for Archaeology already. Good job guys.

I'm posting this from work today, proving that once again I really need to stop being on call at the hospital on the weekends because the people who work those shifts are flaky.
I thought I'd address the random whispers I'm getting when I log on, because it's nice to get it all said in one fell swoop, instead of possibly having to think of something other than gutting Nelfs whilst I'm in WG.

A big thanks to everyone for sticking with this goal for so long! We all knew LK was going down last night, but that's only because we had spent so much time practicing every aspect of this fight. This boss surpassed anything seen before in the game in terms of mechanics, movement, and length, and it was an epic ED win! -
Admittedly, I am often directing the new folks towards our policies but maybe some not so new people will want a refresher on those.
So, if you all would be so kind, please go to the Policies section of the forums and check them out. it won't take long, because I'm not an ass who has to have a rule for every single little thing, or retarded policies which ensure officers to abuse their rank and lord it over the members, or any sort of rubbish like that.
I've never been in any other guild than this one. I've only heard horror stories about how other guilds are run. I've been told numerous times, by many different people, that we have something good going on with ED. I'd like to keep it that way, because I'm proud of what we've done so far, and I only want better for everyone in the future. To ensure that, try to follow the few rules we've instated. It'll make everyone a little happier. -
So I've put up a message of the day, a notice on the guild calendar and this news item here. Signups for raids will be thru the website only. I'm done with the wow built in calendar. See, the thing is, you can do a few things with the website that you can't do with the guild calendar.

OMG, IT'S NOT ONLY AT RAIDS NAO GUISE!!! Rejoice, because waiting on that fifth member for your instance just got that much more interesting. Everyone's doing instances again, which is good news for the lesser geared/lesser repped players in the guild. It also means you may have to fight for summon stones, or beg, bribe or seduce one of our locks to join you if that's not your thing.

Recently, Keepcryin posted in the forums about getting a 10 Naxx run in, in order to get his holy set going. I know there are more than a few of our new guys who can really use more heroics and some of the 10 man raids. I'm all for his idea, because the more people we can stuff into Ulduar 10 and 25, the better geared everyone will be, which is one of my concerns as guild leader.
If you are interested in scheduling a 10 man with Keepcryin, please see his post in the Members forum. Oh and responding to it would be advantageous to everyone as well.
Also, when you're looking to fill a group for a raid or a heroic, please remember the guys in Red Branch. They are our sister guild, a great group of guys and pretty much all honorary guildies. Ask a higher ranked member of Easily Distracted about our shared chat channel with them and use it when you're looking for people to fill your group. They are guaranteed to not be douchebags, unlike random pugs which are a mixed bag at best.
For example... you're a druid and a sweet dps leather helm just dropped. They have Death Knights who know not to roll need on it and screw you out of something awesome for you because they know for DKs that Strength > Agility. Enough said, eh? -
Today, our plans are to raid Ulduar tonight. In the past few months however, Tuesdays have proven to be unreliable, and a general pain in the ass because of server downtime, patches, fixes and what-have-you. Instead of having 15 people come back after the server drops, wondering where the other 10 people went... I want to let everyone know that in case of difficulties today, we will pick up where we left off on Wednesday.
In any case, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and be online at raid time. Hopefully I'm speaking for everyone who signed up for tonight.
Be on time.
Be prepared. I.e., have your buff food, potions, flasks, clicky pets and whatever else gets you thru the raid happily. Watch the fights, for god's sake. It'll make everyone's lives easier if you do.
See you all later, and have fun.
And remember, if all else fails and we're reduced to lvling alts on Kel'Thuzad, we will pick things up on Wednesday.
